This year was Joe's final Cherry Bowl, and Council presented a special proclamation as a token of thanks for his many years of service to our swim clubs and our families. This year, Council President Dave Fleisher and Council members Jim Bannar, Brian Bauerle, Melinda Kane and Carole Roskoph kicked off the morning's festivities. Council also paid special tribute to Joe Crick, a longtime supporter of swimming in Cherry Hill and a familiar face to Cherry Hill swimming since 1989. Cherry Bowl is one of our community's greatest traditions, which brings together hundreds of swimmers and thousands of spectators each year. I am proud to continue partnering with the Board of Education and our school district to improve our schools' athletic fields, and ensure our our students have access to well-maintained and competitive facilities in which to play. The facilities would be open for use by the Township and the public, when not in use by the District.

Planned improvements include the installation of new turf fields for use by each school's Football, Soccer, Lacrosse and Field Hockey programs, as well as track and field improvements at both schools. The Board of Education signed a letter of intent in support of the project at its meeting Tuesday night.
